Following consultation with York Racecourse and聽the Horsemen鈥檚 Group, the British Horseracing Authority (BHA) has today announced that York 鈥檚 application to revise the conditions of the Goffs Premier Yearling Stakes has been approved.
The race is still scheduled for its original date of Thursday 20 August, the second day of the Welcome to Yorkshire Ebor Festival. Adjustments include a reduction in the value of the race to 拢180,000 with the third and fourth stages of the race now not payable. Additionally, a partial refund will be made to owners of the first (拢120) and second (拢240) stage entrants.
Other conditions of the race remain as previously, with the next scratching deadline on Tuesday 7 July at 12 noon.
William Derby, Clerk of the Course for York Racecourse commented:

We wanted to retain the status and relative high value of this race without appearing out of step with the reality of the Covid-19 crisis and resultant funding challenges for all.
