Following Richard Caborn鈥檚 appointment as Ambassador for the World Cup 2018 after six years as Minister for Sport, British Horseracing Authority Chief Executive Nic Coward said:
鈥淭he whole of Racing owes Richard Caborn an enormous debt of gratitude. He listened to Racing and devoted considerable energy to our often complex affairs. He delivered the extension of the Levy, and consequently ensured the long-term funding of our sport and industry after the setback of the European Court of Justice Judgment of November 2004, and was instrumental in forming the British Horseracing Authority: a new, independent governing and regulatory body for the sport.
鈥淩ichard has always been a passionate advocate for British Horseracing. We hope that in his travels as ambassador for the World Cup 2018 he continues also to be a great ambassador for the best of British sport, including Racing.
鈥淲e also look forward to welcoming him to our racecourses for many years to come.鈥
