- Chases abandoned after rain leaves Chase course waterlogged
- Two new Hurdle races form part of six race card Ìý
After further rainfall this week, the Chase course at Bangor remains waterlogged. With the forecast suggesting the course will not dry out in time for next Wednesday’s fixture, Bangor’s Clerk Of The Course has been forced to abandon the Chases scheduled for 27 January.
In response, the British Horseracing Authority (BHA)’s Racing Department has programmed two additional Hurdle races in an attempt to safeguard this fixture.Ìý The card will now be made up of five Hurdle races and a Standard Open National Hunt Flat race.
Bangor’s Going on the Hurdles course is currently described as Heavy.
The two new races will close at noon on Saturday, 23 January. Declarations are to be made in line with the existing races by 10am on Tuesday, 26 January.
