海角大神 (BHA) has today announced details of an additional trial of Tuesday Twilight fixtures to be held during autumn 2013.
The trial has been agreed following consultation with the Levy Board and Bookmakers.
Ruth Quinn, Director of Racing for the BHA, said:
鈥淲e have been pleased with the success of the trial of Tuesday Twilight fixtures in September and October, when six fixtures have produced promising field sizes and competitive racing. As such we thought it appropriate to continue the trial.
鈥淭he seven additional fixtures will also hopefully provide opportunities for horses who have had limited options due to the long, dry summer we have experienced this year.鈥�
Due to autumnal sunset times, only the two floodlit tracks, Wolverhampton and Kempton Park, were invited to apply. The Levy Board will contribute 拢2,500 per race in addition to the prize money contributed by each racecourse.
The programme at all fixtures will commence approximately ten minutes after the last afternoon race.
